When the holidays approach many people resign themselves to the fact that they will put on additional pounds because of all of the temptations that are placed in front of them wherever they seem to turn. The first big hurdle is Holiday sweets.
Chocolate foods and rich desserts are the centerpiece of the food that is served at many of these Christmas time affairs. They are difficult to say no to. No matter where a person goes they are looking at elaborate displays that make the seems appear irresistible and neverending.
Reports have shown that Americans consume way too much sugar, about 22 teaspoons a day on average and that can translate into significantly higher risks of cardiovascular disease, Type II diabetes, obesity and other chronic illnesses and the chief culprits of added sugar are the centerpieces of the typical Holiday celebration that is soft drinks, candy, cakes, cookies and the sugar contained in alcoholic beverages which all lead to a person searching for a plan that tells them six pack ab exercises.
A person can be on a diet and have some candy too. The key is not to overdo it. Instead of a whole piece of cake for yourself, share it with someone. It is better to eat some than to deny yourself any pleasure and hat the way you are eating.

3. Set limits on how many your kids can eat. Five days is a good limit. Portion the candy out for the kids and get rid of anything that is extra.
4. Always eat before attending a holiday bash. By going to an affair on a full stomach a person can avoid the temptations that will be passed around in front of them and concentrate on making good choices for their health.
5. Pick lighter foods to snack on at the party. When a person is going to a potluck dinner they can make something that is healthier for all of the people at the party to enjoy. You will look thoughtful to the host for bringing something to their party and feel at ease that you at least have a veggie tray there to snack on and will know that because you avoided all of the high fat, high calorie foods that others have brought you will not find yourself looking at books that promise to teach you how to lose weight fast after the holiday season is over.
6. Do not drink too much from the bar. Have a glass of water or a galls o juice instead of a drink. Most people will not be able to tell the difference and you can remember the event you went to.
The home is not the only place a person faces temptations, office parties can be troublesome.
7. Put the candy bowl out of sight. Have your supervisor help you in keeping the sweet treats out of sight in the whole office.
8. Give the extra food that is around away. Homeless shelters will be more than happy to relieve you of any candy and treats you have leftover and also from the excess your children may have collected treat-or-treating.
9. Bring healthy treats to work.
